I heard about your book a while ago, and decided to pick up a copy. It really is an excellent resource, and should be more widely picked up and used by Salsa dance teachers. I was familiar with some of the contents of the book, but it was VERY useful to have it all it one place as a single reference. I learnt the most from your "Anatomy of a Salsa song" section - describing the journey through a typical salsa song (verse, montuno, coro & pregon, mambos, monas etc). I think you're definitely right to say that the more your ears recognise and hear what's going on in the music, the more your feet follow. Many thanks :)

I have spent a few hours with the book and cd so far. Although I was already familiar with much of the material it is wonderful to have it all so neatly organized in one place. Nevertheless, I have also learned a few things. For example, I found interesting the bits of salsa composition theory you scatter throughout the material.

    Well done.

Hi Alex, even after 10 years of dancing salsa with a previous life of ballroom dancing, I found "Find the Rhythm" an excellent guide, educational and informative, and by the way, The music is great also.
